Looking through Scripture, it is easy to find multiple verses that could define one's purpose in life.  So why do we, the youth of Stanwood, take Romans 15:13 as ours?  It is truly the driving force for what we do. We, students and leaders alike, are Trusting our lives in Jesus Christ. This trust gives us a joy and peace that cannot be found in this world. We are then compelled by the filling of our lives, to OVERFLOW with hope to those around us. We confess that this is not accomplished by our own strength.  It is an every day struggle, but by the strength of the Holy Spirit we are able to do more than we could ever imagine.

Overflow Theme Verse - Romans 15 13

In a broad stroke, we believe that there are five biblical reasons we exist. Discipleship, Ministry, Evangelism, Worship, and Fellowship. These are the outlets in which our youth can encounter Jesus Christ, and then discover and grow the giftedness that the Holy Spirit has enabled them with. In further defining our direction, we took these main areas of ministry and incorporated them into our Purpose Statement. This statement is a constant reminder of what God is calling us to do through the youth at Stanwood.  We pray that Overflow can become an environment that enables the younger generation to shed the typical facade, encounter Christ, and thrive in their Spritual Giftedness.  Check out our Purpose Statement below.

Encourage, Serve, Reach Out, Becoming, and Honoring; we felt that these words best described those five areas of ministry that we live in.  They are recognized as the foundation of Overflow and the environment that we desire to create for the youth of Stanwood Community Church.  As we encounter Christ and strive to live our lives for Him, we want to lift each other up, give ourselves to the world around us, build up the Body, and worship our King.

So what does that look like?  Well, a consistant pattern of gathering together on Sunday nights for Overflow.  We worhsip through Song with W.O.O.F. Gang (Our student led worship team (Worship Of OverFlow), learn from the truth of the Word, Challenge each other Scripturally (Cover2Cover), goof off with some games, and fellowship with one anther around some awesome food.  Wednesday nights are a more serious dive into the Word of God, asking big questions and relying on each other to search the Scriptures for answers.  Outside of those weekly activities we stay busy with a multiplicity of activities and events.  Rock the Park Concert in Louisville, An annual photo scavenger hunt, October's Cosutme Party, December's Caroling to the shut-ins and Christimas party, All-Dayer (a full day of fun), WinterJam concert in Cleveland, Weekend Retreat, Spring Paintballing, End-of-year Friday morning breakfasts, Summer mission trips, and last but not least, the occasional cup of coffee at Starbucks!  No matter what we do throughout the year, the goal is that Christ is glorified through our lives!

Feel free to join us!  Hope to see you on Sunday!
